Gonul Uyanik has a diverse and extensive work experience in the hospitality industry. Gonul started their career in 1997 at NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky, where they held various positions including Revenue Manager, Reservations Manager, and Commercial Director. Gonul then worked at Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts as a Revenue Manager before joining Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. as an Area Revenue Manager for Le Méridien Hotels in the Netherlands.
In 2007, Gonul joined Apollo Hotels & Resorts as the Director of Revenue & Rebranding. Gonul was responsible for implementing a new brand in the hotels and negotiating with suppliers for revenue and sales systems. Gonul later became the General Manager of Apollo Hotel Utrecht and Best Western Apollo Museumhotel Amsterdam, overseeing day-to-day operations and leading the management teams.
Gonul's next role was as the General Manager of Generator Amsterdam, a design-led lifestyle hostel. Gonul managed the hostel's operations, including a large F&B department.
Gonul then joined The Student Hotel as a General Manager and Cluster General Manager, where they continued to showcase their leadership skills.
Currently, Gonul is the Founder of A2Z Hospitality Management & Consultancy, demonstrating their entrepreneurial spirit.
In 2022, they will join The Social Hub as the Regional Director of Operations for Amsterdam and France, further expanding their responsibilities in the industry.
Gonul Uyanik began their education in 1986 at St Ludger College Doetinchem, where they earned a HAVO degree. Gonul then attended Sonsbeek College Arnhem from 1991 to 1992, focusing on 5 & 6 VWO in one year. In 1992, they enrolled at Stenden and pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Management School, which they completed in 1997. Currently, they are pursuing an Executive MBA at Nyenrode Business University, starting in 2023.
