Trisha Chong, PHR, SHRM-CP has a diverse work experience in the Human Resources field. Trisha began their career in 2014 as a Human Resources Coordinator at Loews Hotels & Co. In this role, they developed a recruiting strategy, implemented the interviewing and hiring process, conducted pre-screens and interviews, and managed the onboarding process for all new hires. In 2015, they moved to Rescue | The Behavior Change Agency as an HR Manager, where they mediated and resolved high-risk conflict resolutions and employee concerns, trained managers and supervisors on relevant employment labor laws, and was a subject matter expert on local, state, and federal laws and policies. In 2018, they joined BASIC® (part of Dept) as a People Operations Manager, where they were the first and only HR hire to help build the People Operations department from the ground up. Trisha created various people programs to enhance the people experience, kept a pulse on employee engagement and needs, and gained insights from stay interviews and exit interviews. Most recently, in 2020, they joined The Shipyard as Vice President, People & Culture, and then as Director of People Operations when the company acquired Mering in January 2021. In this role, they are a trusted advisor to provide the overall vision and direction of the HR/People team, and manages the talent acquisition process from start to finish.

Trisha Chong, PHR, SHRM-CP has a Master's Degree in Human Resources Management from Hawaii Pacific University, which they obtained between 2010 and 2012. Trisha also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from San Diego State University, which they obtained between 2006 and 2010. Additionally, Chong obtained their Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in January 2017 and their SHRM - Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification from SHRM in January 2019. Trisha is also a LifeLabs Learning Founding Community Member, which they obtained in July 2022.
