David G. Gaston serves as the Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer, Branch Chief, and Lead Technology Counsel at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) since January 2017. In addition to this role, David is a member of the Advisory Board for the Georgetown Advanced E-Discovery Institute and co-chairs the Technology in the Practice and Workplace Committee of the American Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Section. David's contributions to The Sedona Conference include being a member of Working Groups 1 and 6 and acting as a contributing editor for the Commentary on Ephemeral Messaging. Previously, David served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice and held an attorney position at the USDA. Earlier in David's career, consulting work was conducted at Waters Edge Consulting, and David was an associate at K&L Gates. David G. holds a JD from Harvard Law School and a BA in History, Political Science, and English from The University of Georgia.
