Liz Zoller Cohen has a diverse work experience that spans several industries. Liz currently holds the role of Music Director at The Second City Training Center, where they are responsible for piano accompaniment and music creation for sketch comedy and improv shows. Additionally, they teach workshops on improvisation games and the basics of improvised song building.

Prior to this, Liz worked as a Standardized Patient at the University of Minnesota, where they helped medical students improve their clinical and communication skills through role-playing patient scenarios and offering feedback. Liz also worked as a Faculty Extender in the Health Communication Masters Program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, supporting course professors and providing individualized feedback to students.

Before their positions in academia, Liz served as a Standardized Patient for the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. In this role, they assisted medical students in enhancing their clinical and communication skills.

Liz also has experience in the education sector, having worked as a Substitute Teacher for Chicago Public Schools. Additionally, they were the Chief Voice Officer at ZoCoPro, a company specializing in providing a clear voice for messages. Liz has also held leadership positions such as President of the South East Lake View Neighbors organization.

In the past, Liz worked as a singer for The Caroling Party and as an Educational Technology/Software Editor for Scott Foresman.

Liz Zoller Cohen began their education journey by attending Northwestern University from 1986 to 1990. During their time there, they pursued a double-major in music and linguistics, earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Music.

In 2018, Liz Zoller Cohen pursued further education and enrolled at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Liz completed their studies in 2020, achieving a Master of Science (MS) degree in Health Communication.

Additionally, in June 2019, Liz Zoller Cohen obtained a CITI Program Certification in the Protection of Human Subjects: Social & Behavioral Research. This certification was obtained from CITI, an institution that specializes in this field.
