Derek Linklater, MD, MEd, serves as Co-Chair of the Sedation Oversight Committee and Associate Division Chief for Clinical Operations & Medical Director for Emergency Care and Transport at Texas Children's Hospital since 2020. In addition to these roles, Derek Linklater is an Emergency Medicine Physician and Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine. Previous experience includes Senior Vice President of Operations and Medical Director for multiple centers at Austin Emergency Center, diverse faculty positions in various medical schools, and a distinguished 25-year career as a Colonel in the US Army. Derek Linklater's educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine from the Uniformed Services University, a Master of Education from the University of Houston, and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Eastern Washington University.
