Royal College Of Ophthalmologists Representative at The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth)

Ahmed Shalaby Bardan PhD is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Spire Healthcare Group plc and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, specializing in Cataract, Cornea, and refractive surgery. Since September 2021, Ahmed serves as a representative and examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, overseeing the certificate of laser and refractive surgery (CertLRS) and FRCOphth examinations. Additionally, Ahmed holds the position of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Leeds and has been a Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer of Ophthalmology at the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, Egypt since March 2016. Previous experience includes a fellowship in cornea and external eye disease at Sussex Eye Hospital and residency at Alexandria Main University Hospital. Ahmed holds a PhD in Ophthalmology from Alexandria University and multiple degrees, including FRCOphth and FRCSEd in Ophthalmology.
