Marcello De Vitis is a seasoned professional in ecological restoration and conservation, currently serving as a Project Officer at the Society for Ecological Restoration (SER) Europe since July 2024. With a rich background as a Research Associate at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh since March 2018, Marcello has leveraged expertise in laboratory, desk, and fieldwork to support science and conservation efforts globally. Previously, Marcello directed the Southeast Native Seed Program at the Southeastern Grasslands Initiative, managing multiple projects focused on native plant materials for ecological restoration, and held positions at Chicago Botanic Garden and the International Network for Seed-based Restoration.
