Alexis Martino

Photography Teacher & Dean. Field Academy at Ross School

Alexis earned her B.F.A. in Photography from Parsons School of Design before studying Cinematography at the American Film Institute (AFI). She worked in Los Angeles as an Art Director, Production Manager, Photographer, and Videographer prior to joining Ross in 1999 where she established the photography department and was Dean of Media Studies for several years. She now serves as Dean of Field Academy. A storyteller and natural leader, Martino has led photography workshops around the world. Her endless search for stories drives her to seek them out wherever they may be. As a contemporary artist, Alexis embraces the strengths of both new media and old to inspire her work and believes having a strong command of all the techniques and technologies available today is essential. Her work explores unity, understanding, and discovery through storytelling in order to erode boundaries and the barriers to knowledge of the self and others.
