John Reid has extensive experience in educational leadership. John currently serves as the Head of School at The Rosedale Day School, where they lead a preparatory institution for 170 students. Prior to this role, John was the Deputy Head of School at West Island College Calgary, where they provided input and leadership to various school-wide priorities and initiatives. John also held roles at Chartwell School, Collingwood School, Trinity College School, and Northern Lights Secondary School, where they contributed to the development and implementation of educational programs. Overall, John has a strong background in strategic leadership, educational excellence, and instructional growth.
John Reid completed their education in the following chronological order:
- From 1990 to 1994, John obtained their B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Biology/Concurrent Education from Trent University.
- In 1994 and 1995, they attended Queen's University and earned their B.Ed. degree in Concurrent Education with a focus on Intermediate/Senior Education.
- From 2001 to 2004, John pursued their M.Ed. degree in Theory and Policy Studies/Curriculum at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto.
In addition to their formal education, John has obtained various certifications, including an Alberta Education Leadership Certification in 2019 and an Alberta Education Permanent Professional Teaching Certification in 2017. John also holds a British Columbia Teacher Certificate obtained in 2004 and an Ontario Teacher Certificate with Intermediate/Senior, Biology/Chemistry, and Honours Specialist endorsements, acquired in 1995. John has also completed the CAIS Diploma in Independent School Leadership and the Next Step Program offered by the Canadian Accredited Independent Schools (CAIS).
