Elissa Torres is an experienced local news editor and designer with a robust background in journalism and design. Currently serving as the Local News Editor/Special Projects at The Press Democrat since June 2017, Elissa coordinates stories for both online and print media and oversees the weekly Towns and Life section. Previous roles include Graphic Designer 3 at Gannett | USA TODAY NETWORK, Design Editor at the Baltimore Business Journal, and multiple positions at the Golden Gate Xpress, including Art Director. Elissa's educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Environmental Studies from San Francisco State University and yoga teacher training certifications.
