Karen Lam is an accomplished pianist and educator with extensive experience in the performing arts. Since February 2017, Karen has served as a pianist for Oregon Ballet Theatre, and holds a similar position at The Portland Ballet since August 2015. Karen also contributes to Pacific University as a pianist in the Department of Dance since September 2016. Karen established Karen Lam Piano Studio in September 1999, offering piano instruction. Previous roles include serving as Artistic Director at the Portland Conservatory of Music from May 2003 to December 2006 and as a Graduate Teaching Fellow at the University of Oregon from September 1996 to June 1999. Karen's educational background includes a Master of Music in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
