James Ning Qian

VP Manufacturing Engineering at The PAC Group

James Ning Qian has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. James Ning started their career as a Facility Engineer at Shugang Optical Instrument Company in 1982 and then worked as a Product Engineer at Wuxi No. 2 Radio Factory from 1984 to 1990. James Ning later joined Design Systems, Inc. as a Senior Industrial Engineer, where they managed multiple projects for clients such as GM, Ford, and Chrysler from 1992 to 1996. James also worked as a Senior Industrial Engineer at General Motors, where they developed SUV body shop layouts and optimized operations from 1996 to 1999. James Ning then joined Ford Motor Company as a Senior Industrial Engineer, where they engineered lean manufacturing projects and contributed to the development of lean system guidelines known as FPS from 1999 to 2001.

From 2001 to 2020, James held various roles at SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co. Ltd., including Deputy General Manager of Technical Development Center, Senior Manufacturing Engineering Director, Vehicle Platform Senior Director, and Overseas Engineering Senior Director. In these roles, they established and led engineering organizations, planned and executed development of new car assembly facilities in multiple countries, and managed the reorganization of the technical center.

Since 2020, James has been working at Komline-Sanderson as the Vice President of Manufacturing. James Ning has managed limited resources during the Covid-19 pandemic to maintain manufacturing and delivery of equipment to waste treatment facilities worldwide. James Ning has also grown the supplier chain and rebuilt the quality team to emphasize customer wants, process controls, and profitability.

In 2022, James Ning Qian joined The PAC Group as the VP Manufacturing Engineering.

James Ning Qian completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Automation from Beijing Institute of Technology between 1978 and 1982. James Ning then pursued a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering & Technology at Murray State University from 1990 to 1992.
