Summer Kee is a highly experienced healthcare professional with a diverse background in nursing and education. Currently serving as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner at The Night Ministry since June 2022, Summer has previously held the position of Registered Nurse at UChicago Medicine from March 2016 to June 2022, focusing on trauma and surgical specialties. Additional nursing experience includes roles at Loyola University Medical Center in Employee Health, AMITA Health in Medical Surgical and Telemetry, Maxim Healthcare Services as a School Nurse, and UHS in Pediatric Behavioral Health. Summer began a career in education as a Fine Arts Teacher at Chicago Public Schools, teaching studio art and digital media, among other subjects. Educational qualifications include a Postgraduate Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing and a Doctorate of Nursing in Family Practice, both from the University of Illinois Chicago, along with a BFA in Studio Art and a BS in Psychology and Art History from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
