Arjen van der Heide currently serves as a Wetenschappelijk Medewerker at The Netherlands Institute for Social Research (SCP) since October 2022. Prior to this role, Arjen held postdoctoral researcher positions at Leiden University and the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies from September 2021 to September 2022 and October 2019 to September 2021, respectively. Arjen completed a PhD in Sociology at The University of Edinburgh from September 2016 to September 2019, and worked as a Research Assistant at Maastricht University between March 2015 and August 2016. Arjen holds a Master's Degree in Research from Maastricht University and two Bachelor's Degrees in Economics & Business and Political Science from the University of Amsterdam. Additional education includes a brief program at the University of Toronto and a high school diploma from Christelijk Gymnasium Beyers Naude.
