August Ritter has extensive experience in the conservation field. August is currently the Managing Director of Global Portfolio Management at The Nature Conservancy, where they oversee a $150M fund and drives impact across the organization's 79 operating counties. Prior to this role, they co-founded and managed The Agility Lab, an organization that supports conservation teams in leveraging agile and lean-startup methodologies to build impactful solutions. August also served as the Program Director for The Sustainability Accelerator, a partnership between The Nature Conservancy and Techstars. August was responsible for identifying and scaling innovative technologies to address food, water, and climate challenges. Additionally, August played a key role in launching The Nature Conservancy's program in India, serving as the Associate Director and overseeing strategy development and project execution. August has also held positions at Waste Management, Colorado State University, Planning Partners International, and various student advocacy organizations.
August Ritter holds a Master of Science degree in Conservation Leadership from Colorado State University and El Colegio de la Frontera Sur, which was obtained from 2010 to 2012. August also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources and Global Tourism, which they earned from Colorado State University's Warner College of Natural Resources from 2004 to 2008. In 2007, they participated in a study abroad program at the Universitat d'Alacant, focusing on Spanish Language and Literature. Additionally, in 2012, they obtained a LEED GA certification from the Green Building Certification Institute.
