Rachel Besen has extensive experience in the publishing industry, currently serving as the Journals Production & Publishing Technology Manager at The MIT Press since February 2018, after holding various positions at the same institution since 1999, including Journals Editorial and Production Manager and Senior Production Editor. Prior to their tenure at The MIT Press, Rachel Besen worked as a Production Editor at Pearson Education from 1998 to 1999 and was a Lecturer in the Department of English at The Ohio State University from 1994 to 1998. Rachel Besen holds a Master’s degree in Nineteenth Century British and American Literature, Literary Theory from The Ohio State University (1991-1993) and a Bachelor’s degree in British Literature from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (1985-1990).
