Kathleen Ferrier serves as an Honorary Professor of Human Rights at the Asian University for Women since 2016, aiming to empower women as leaders and professionals. In September 2019, Kathleen became the Chairperson of the Netherlands Commission for UNESCO and has been a consultant for the National Democratic Institute since June 2017, focusing on democratic governance and citizen engagement. Additionally, Kathleen is a member of Topvrouwen.nl and the Environmental and Energy Council of the European Chamber of Commerce, and serves as an ambassador for The Mekong Club, addressing modern slavery issues. As a co-founder of Bright Hong Kong, Kathleen promotes critical thinking on societal issues. Kathleen also educates at Hong Kong Baptist University, teaching courses on gender and politics as well as Spanish language and culture. Previous experience includes membership in the independent Expert Review Group for the UN, focusing on women's and children's health, and a decade-long tenure as a Member of the Dutch Parliament, specializing in international cooperation and public health. Kathleen holds a Master's degree in Hispanic and Latin American Languages from Leiden University.
