Sebastian Birceanu has over 15 years of work experience in the field of materials engineering. Sebastian started their career as a Grad Student at CWRU in 2001 and worked there until 2005. In 2004, they joined Bekaert as a Plant Metallurgist and worked there for four years. In 2008, they joined The M.K. Morse Company as a Senior Product Development Metallurgist. Sebastian later moved up within the company, taking on roles such as Senior Materials Engineer and currently serves as the Technical Director.

Sebastian Birceanu earned a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest in 1995. Sebastian then pursued a Master's degree in the same field at the same institution from 1995 to 1996. Following this, they attended Case Western Reserve University, where they completed a Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from 2001 to 2002. Sebastian furthered their education at Case Western Reserve University, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Materials Science and Engineering from 2002 to 2005.
