Emanuela Marcantoni has a diverse work experience in scientific research and medical writing. Emanuela is currently working as a Senior Associate Scientific Director at Lockwood. Prior to that, they worked at Syneos Health as a Medical Writer from November 2020 to November 2021. Emanuela also worked as a Review Editor at Frontiers in "Inflammation Pharmacology" since January 2013. Additionally, they have held positions as a Scientific Associate at International Meetings & Science (IMsci) from March 2020 to May 2020, and as a Post Doc Fellow in Medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center from August 2014 to August 2019. Emanuela has also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher and PHD Student at Università degli Studi "G. d'Annunzio" Chieti - Pescara from January 2010 to June 2014. Emanuela started their career as a Research Fellow at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" from April 2008 to September 2009, and as a Research Fellow at Inserm U591 - Institut Necker from September 2007 to March 2008.
Emanuela Marcantoni's education history begins in 2001 when they enrolled at Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Biology. Emanuela completed their undergraduate studies in 2004. Emanuela continued their education at the same university and obtained a Master's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, Medical Biology from 2004 to 2007. Following their Master's degree, Emanuela enrolled in a doctoral program at Università degli Studi 'Gabriele d'Annunzio' di Chieti, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Pharmacology between 2010 and 2013. Additionally, Emanuela pursued further qualifications by completing a Professional Biologist Qualification at Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna in 2007.
