Daronta Briggs is the Founder and CEO of the Veterans Transplantation Association, a role held since August 2016, dedicated to supporting veterans with transplants and promoting organ, tissue, and eye donation. In addition, Daronta serves as an Ambassador for DONATE LIFE MARYLAND and the American Association of Kidney Patients, and as a Team Member of Team Maryland Transplant Recipient. Volunteer work includes significant contributions as a Volunteer for The Living Legacy Foundation of Maryland, recognized as Volunteer of the Year in 2014 and 2015. Daronta's previous experience includes a role as Correctional Lieutenant with the Virginia Department of Corrections from October 1992 to July 2008 and service in the United States Army during the Gulf War from August 1986 to February 1992. Daronta holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections from Virginia State University and Saint Leo University.
