Alfie Stirling currently serves as the Director of Insight & Policy (interim) and Chief Economist at the Joseph Rowntree Foundation since May 2023. Previously, from April 2018 to May 2023, Alfie held the position of Director of Research and Chief Economist at the New Economics Foundation, where leadership over research and policy teams focused on economics, social policy, and the environment was a key responsibility. Before joining NEF, Alfie was the Head of Economics at IPPR from September 2014 to April 2018, and also contributed as a Senior Economist, Research Fellow, and Researcher within the organization. Alfie's early career includes recognition through the Amelia Zollner Internship Award in early 2014.
