Peter Thielen is a Senior Scientist at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, with expertise in molecular biology and genomics, focusing on DNA and RNA sequencing for various applications in clinical, environmental, and national security fields since November 2012. Prior to this role, Peter served as Research Laboratory Manager at Johns Hopkins Medical Institute – Center for Epigenetics, overseeing operations and strategic planning in a NIH-funded lab studying the epigenetic basis of diseases from August 2010 to November 2012. Earlier experience includes significant research contributions at Harvard School of Public Health, where Peter worked as a Research Assistant, studying neurodegenerative diseases and developing high-throughput screening methods. Peter holds a Doctorate of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University, a Master of Liberal Arts in Biotechnology from Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
