Professor Neil Currie is a seasoned academic and engineering professional with extensive experience in structural engineering and civil engineering education. Currently serving as a Professor of Structural Engineering Practice and Senior Lecturer at The University of Salford since August 2010, Neil Currie specializes in building design and conducts research on tall buildings, sustainability, and tensile fabric structures. In addition to academic roles, Neil Currie is a Director at Woolgar Hunter, where contributions are made to a variety of projects, and serves on multiple committees, including the CB/2 Committee of BSI, focusing on innovation and sustainability in building standards. Neil Currie's professional involvement extends to the Institution of Structural Engineers, holding positions such as Chartered Membership Examiner, Interviewer, and Chairman of the Lancashire and Cheshire Regional Group. A strong educational background includes a PhD from The University of Salford and a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University.
