Taylor Heisley-Cook has worked for a variety of companies since 2012. In that year, they began working at The Adderley School as a Lead Musical Theatre Instructor and On-Site Administrator, where they were responsible for up to 200 students each semester. In 2014, they became the Associate Director of Impact and Social Media Manager for the Plastic Oceans Foundation, an international non-profit dedicated to the health and well-being of the world's oceans. In 2018, they took on roles as Materials & Sustainability Intern at Toad&Co and Innovation Intern at Sustainable Health Enterprises (SHE). Most recently, in 2019, Taylor became the Co-Founder and CEO of The Hurd Co., which engineers man-made cellulosic fiber pulp from 100% agricultural waste.
Taylor Heisley-Cook completed a High School Diploma at Harvard-Westlake School between 2001 and 2007. Taylor then went on to Northwestern University, where they earned a B.A. in Communication with a focus on Theatre, Musical Theater, and Communication Sciences and Disorders between 2007 and 2011. Finally, they earned a Master's degree in Corporate Environmental Management, Eco-Entrepreneurship, and Environmental Communication and Media at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management - University of California, Santa Barbara between 2017 and 2019.
