David Mun

Co-Founder & COO at The Hurd

David Mun has worked in a variety of roles since 2010. From 2010 to 2012, they were an Administrative Assistant at Nabil Barsoum CPA. From 2012 to 2015, they worked as a Solar Innovation Thesis Researcher at The Adept Group, Inc. and a Biological Safety Lab Assistant at the University of California, Los Angeles. From 2015 to 2018, they were a Project Manager at SWAPE and held positions as a Market Research Analyst at Alante Capital, a Strategy & Research Analyst at Inboard Technology Inc., and a Wear it Wise Campaign Leader and President of the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management Chapter (Gold Chapter) at Net Impact. Since 2019, they have been a Co-Founder & COO at The Hurd Co., engineering man-made cellulosic fiber pulp from 100% agricultural waste.

David Mun attended Santa Monica High School, obtaining their high school degree. David then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a minor in Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. In 2018, they obtained a certification in Textile Fundamentals from North Carolina State University. Finally, they earned a Master of Environmental Science and Management (MESM) from the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at the University of California, Santa Barbara, specializing in Corporate Environmental Management (CEM) and Eco-Entrepreneurship (Eco-E).
