Randy Gelow II, MD has extensive experience as a Primary Care Physician and Medical Director in addiction treatment centers. Randy has worked in various healthcare organizations, including Banner Health, HonorHealth, Scottsdale Healthcare, and several others. In their roles as Medical Director, they conducted in-depth patient history and clinical evaluation to determine appropriate detox and/or Medication Assisted Treatment [MAT] plans and managed staff of Advanced Practitioners, nurses, and therapists. As a Primary Care Physician, they provided care across a network of health centers, outpatient facilities, cancer care centers, and hospitals throughout the Phoenix metro area. Dr. Gelow II has also launched new clinic sites, oversaw other physicians, and served as Faculty Physician for Residency Program at HonorHealth. Additionally, they own a country-wide crowdsourcing phone app, NearMeLGBT, which provides a free comprehensive directory of LGBTQ+ friendly businesses and events.
Randy Gelow II, MD, attended Michigan State University from 2003 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Physiology. From 2005 to 2007, they attended the University of South Florida and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Sciences. Randy later attended the American University of the Caribbean to complete a Doctor of Medicine degree in Medicine, from 2007 to 2011. Following their education, they received several additional certifications in medicine such as Board Certification in Addiction Medicine from the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM), Board of Certification in Family Medicine from the American Board of Family Medicine, and HIV Specialistā¢ from the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
