Denise de Buck has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Denise most recently worked at The HALO Trust, starting in August 2017 as a Programme Officer for Afghanistan and later serving as the Head of Donor Management Afghanistan from April 2018 to October 2019. Denise then became the Regional Donor Management Officer for Afghanistan, the Middle East, and North Africa from October 2019 to January 2022. Following this, they worked as a Senior Donor and Partnership Advisor from February 2022 to July 2023, and is currently serving as the Head of Partnerships.
Before joining The HALO Trust, Denise was a Blue Book trainee in EU response to conflict at the European External Action Service from March 2017 to August 2017. Denise also worked at the Centre for Innovation as a Project Officer from December 2016 to March 2017.
Earlier in their career, Denise worked at Leiden University as a Graduate Research Assistant from September 2015 to June 2016, and as a Teaching Assistant from May 2015 to September 2015. Denise also served as an Intern at The Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies from May 2015 to September 2015.
Denise de Buck pursued their education in a systematic and progressive manner. Denise started their academic journey by completing their International High School Diploma at the American Overseas School of Rome from 2008 to 2011. Following this, they enrolled at University College Maastricht and earned their Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from 2011 to 2014. Building on their undergraduate education, Denise then attended Leiden University from 2014 to 2016, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in International Relations and Diplomacy. Through their educational endeavors, Denise exhibited a strong commitment to interdisciplinary studies and a desire to explore various aspects of global affairs.
