Jordi Cayuso, PhD, serves as Group Leader and Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Portsmouth since March 2023, focusing on Eph/Ephrin signalling in embryonic development and regeneration. In parallel, Jordi holds a Visiting Scientist position and previously worked as a Senior Research Laboratory Scientist at The Francis Crick Institute, contributing to research on hindbrain segmentation under David Wilkinson. Previous academic roles include Senior Lecturer in Reproduction and Developmental Biology at the University of Wolverhampton and Honorary Research Fellow at UCL, alongside teaching experience at the Marine Biological Laboratory. Jordi's early research at the National Institute for Medical Research and Parc CientÃfic de Barcelona contributed to understanding neurogenesis and the sonic hedgehog pathway in neural tube development. Jordi obtained a PhD in Genetics from Universitat de Barcelona and furthered education with a Postgraduate Degree in Higher Education and Professional Practice from the University of Wolverhampton.
