Steve Harms is a Technical Consultant at The Fire Protection Association since January 2023, with extensive experience in fire protection engineering. Formerly an Engineering Manager at UL from January 2012 to September 2022, Steve led multiple teams focused on passive fire protection, suppression engineering, and fire testing across Europe and the Middle East. Prior roles include Operations Manager with Exova Warringtonfire Middle East, where Steve organized fire safety product approvals for Dubai Civil Defence and contributed to the establishment of a Fire Safety Centre of Excellence. Earlier positions at British Gypsum Limited involved managing fire testing laboratories and leading product development initiatives. Steve holds a BEng (Hons) in Civil & Structural Engineering from The University of Sheffield (1991-1994).
