Bernhard Url is an experienced professional in the field of food safety and veterinary medicine. As Executive Director of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) since June 2012, Bernhard Url has also held positions as Acting Executive Director and Director of Risk Assessment and Scientific Assistance within the organization. Previously, Bernhard Url served as Executive Managing Director at AGES Agentur für Gesundheit und Ernährungssicherheit from May 2002 to December 2011, and as Head of Laboratory at Agrarmarkt Austria from July 1993 to April 2002. Bernhard Url began the career in academia as a University Assistant at the University of Veterinary Medicine from January 1989 to June 1993. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine earned between 1987 and 1990 and a Master's degree in Veterinary Medicine obtained from the same institution from 1980 to 1987.
