Tomas Martin is currently serving as Market Editor at The Energy Year since 2024. Previously, from 2014 to 2018, Tomas held the position of Research Director at Blue Heron Research Partners, where responsibilities included due diligence and investigative research for hedge funds and private equity investors, along with project management. Prior to that, from 2010 to 2014, Tomas worked as Associate Research Editor at Time Inc., focusing on fact-checking and editing. Earlier in their career, Tomas was a Freight Derivatives Broker at IFCHOR Group from 2004 to 2009, executing hedging and speculative transactions for institutional clients, and as a Risk Analyst at Intesa Sanpaolo from 2001 to 2003, conducting risk assessments for corporate loans and project finance. Tomas holds an MSc in Economics from the University of Bristol and has academic credentials from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and the American School of Madrid.
