Elizabeth Massey has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Elizabeth is currently serving as Vice-Chair of the Group of Experts on Energy Efficiency at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, where they play a key role in promoting energy efficiency initiatives. Elizabeth is also a Member of the Task Force on Digitalization in Energy, which aims to bridge the gap between academic research, industrial innovations, and policy needs in the energy sector.
Prior to their current position, Elizabeth worked as a Director of Connected Analytics at The Energy Authority, where they provided thought leadership and strategic insights into energy analytics for public power partners. Elizabeth also served as the Head of Research at the International Energy Research Centre, leading the research strategy and activities and translating industry needs into research ambitions.
Elizabeth's career also includes roles such as Senior Research Scientist at United Technologies Research Center Ireland, where they developed enabling technologies for smart buildings and campuses, and as a researcher and teaching assistant at the University of Lincoln. Elizabeth holds a PhD in Computer Science and has a strong background in software engineering and data analysis.
Earlier in their career, Elizabeth worked as a Senior Software Engineer at CSI, Inc., Harris Corporation, and GE Plastics, where they held various responsible roles and contributed to software development projects. Overall, Elizabeth has a broad range of experience in energy efficiency, research, data analytics, and software engineering.
Elizabeth Massey received their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Troy University in Montgomery from 1988 to 1991. Elizabeth pursued further studies and obtained a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the Florida Institute of Technology between 1999 and 2002. Elizabeth continued their academic journey at the University of Lincoln, where they completed their Ph.D. in Computer Science from 2006 to 2010.
