Stuart Lyon is a legal professional with extensive experience in environmental law and public sector advisory roles. Currently serving as a Lawyer at The Electoral Commission since May 2023, Stuart previously held the position of Senior Specialist Lawyer at Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru / Natural Resources Wales from April 2013 to May 2023, focusing on conservation, forestry, fisheries, and EU law. Prior to this, Stuart worked as a Lawyer at the Environment Agency, advising on fisheries, contaminated land, and flood defence, and served as a Lawyer at The Vale of Glamorgan Council in the Property & Contracts Team. Stuart's legal career began at Howells Solicitors as a Residential Property Lawyer. Stuart holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Aberystwyth University and has completed the Legal Practice Course at Cardiff University, as well as an ILM Level 4 in Leadership and Management from Coleg Cambria.
