Bakthakolahalan Shyamsundar is an experienced engineer specializing in avionics systems and autonomy, currently serving as Lead at The ePlane Company since July 2019, focusing on autonomous navigation for Hybrid Aerial Vehicles using Artificial Intelligence. Prior to this role, Bakthakolahalan held various positions, including Project Manager and Software Development Team Lead at Abhiyaan, where a team secured second place in the Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition and focused on Autonomous Ground Vehicle software development. Earlier experience includes working as a Senior Electrical Engineer and Graduate Engineer Trainee at Larsen & Toubro, with responsibilities in plant operations and air-side works at Kannur International Airport. Bakthakolahalan also completed a research internship at Universitá di Bologna, developing an AI tool for Partial Discharge analysis, and gained hands-on experience as an Industrial Trainee at Flextronics. Educational qualifications include a Master of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology and Research Academy.
