Erich Kroll has extensive work experience in engineering and management positions in the wine industry. Erich currently holds the role of Vice President of Engineering at The Duckhorn Portfolio, starting in 2023. Prior to this, they served as Director of Engineering at The Duckhorn Portfolio from 2022 to 2023.
Before joining The Duckhorn Portfolio, Erich worked at Jackson Family Wines from 2014 to 2022, where they held the position of Director of Engineering. In this role, they provided technical leadership and support for capital projects, mentored project managers, and implemented cross-functional strategies to maintain the company's leadership in process, sustainability, automation, and building technology. Erich also served as an Engineering Project Manager, managing various design, planning, and construction projects.

Erich Kroll earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1999. Erich subsequently pursued a Master's degree (MS) in Geotechnical Engineering at the same institution from 1999 to 2000. In 2003, Erich obtained a Professional Engineering & Land Surveyors License from the California Board of Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, & Geologist.
