Holly Harrison has a diverse work experience. Holly began their career at Hunter College in 2006 as an Early College Liaison, where they worked until 2014. Following that, they joined The Fresh Air Fund as the Director of the Career Awareness Program, a role they held until 2019. In 2019, Holly Harrison joined The Door - A Center of Alternatives, first as the Director of College and Academic Services, and later as the Director of College Advising and Arts Programming. Their current role at The Door is ongoing.

Holly Harrison completed their Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature at Tufts University from 1991 to 1995. Holly then pursued a Master's degree at Rutgers University, but the specific field of study is unknown. Their time at Rutgers lasted until 2006. Additionally, from 1998 to 2000, Holly attained another Master's degree at Binghamton University, although the field of study is unspecified. Holly also possesses a certification in "Emerging Leaders in Nonprofit Management" from the Partnership for Afterschool Education, although the exact date of obtaining the certification is unknown.
