Kendrick Heather Phillips has had a diverse range of roles and experiences in the arts and education sectors. They served as the Director of Visual and Performing Arts at The Alfred and Adele Davis Academy, where they managed a staff of 10 and oversaw curriculum in the arts. They also served as an Advisory Board Member for the Alliance Theatre, working to create community engagement and develop connections with patrons, sponsors, and businesses. As the CEO/Founder & Artistic Director of The Metropolitan Theatre Conservatory, they designed and implemented over 30 original curriculums and directed productions for children. They also served as a Community Engagement & Development, Arts Consultant, Grant Writer, Adjudicator, and Speaker, working as a self-employed professional. As the President of the Board of Directors for Fulton Arts North, they turned the organization around and grew its membership and operating budget. Kendrick Heather Phillips has a diverse education history. They attended Vanderbilt University, where they studied Theatre, English Literature, and Molecular Biology. They also completed minors in Vocal Performance, French, and Film. Kendrick then pursued further studies at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, focusing on Shakespearean Studies/Theatre, Voice, Movement, Acting, and the Alexander Technique.
Before that, Kendrick attended The Westminster Schools. After completing their time there, they went on to study Russian History, English Literature and Composition, Media Studies, and Business at Southern Methodist University.
In addition to their academic pursuits, Kendrick obtained certification in Ethical Leadership Through Giving Voice to Values from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business in October 2019.
