Karen Cox RN PhD FACHE FAAN serves as the President of Chamberlain University, overseeing all undergraduate and graduate programs across online platforms and 23 campuses in the United States since August 2018. Additionally, Karen holds a Board Member position at The DAISY Foundation, contributing to the strategic direction and program development of the nonprofit organization established in 1999. Previously, Karen was the President and President Elect of the American Academy of Nursing from 2015 to 2019 and served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Childrenā€™s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City from 1987 until August 2018, where key achievements included leading the hospital to receive Magnet designation. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Nursing from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, an MSN focused on research in primary prevention in pregnant adolescents from the same institution, and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the University of Kansas.
