Debra Chalmers is an experienced legal and compliance professional with extensive expertise in corporate finance and regulatory compliance. Currently serving as the Legal and Compliance Director at CREDO since 2003, Debra holds multiple significant roles, including Group Legal Counsel and MLRO. Responsibilities encompass directing regulated companies, managing legal affairs, and leading HR and compliance efforts. Debra has a background in developing AML policies and procedures, and previously held director and partner positions at notable firms, including Clifford Chance LLP and Chalmers & Chalmers. Debra earned a BA LLB HDip Tax from the University of the Witwatersrand, complemented by a high school matriculation certificate from Johannesburg High School for Art, Ballet and Music.
