Steven Smith serves as the Chief Commercial Officer at BioConnect Iowa since December 2019, focusing on building an agriculture technology-focused venture studio and assisting university innovation departments. Steven co-founded and leads INFLEXION POINT TECHNOLOGIES, LLC as CEO, driving the vision for an innovative Ag Tech startup. Additionally, Steven founded Biz Strategy Consulting, providing management and strategy consulting in agriculture biotechnology, and serves as a Senior Associate at The Context Network. Prior to these roles, Steven held various positions, including Director of the Licensing Department at Pioneer Hi-Bred International, where Steven managed high-stakes negotiations and strategy projects. Steven's earlier experience includes a member role at McKee, Voorhees and Sease, PLC, patent litigation at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP, and a summer internship at Principal Financial Group. Steven holds a J.D. in Intellectual Property from Indiana University Bloomington and a B.A. in Management Information Systems from the University of Northern Iowa.
