Amber Shields serves as the Managing Director for Early Matters Dallas at The Commit Partnership since January 2023, transitioning from the Director role within the same initiative. Prior to this, Amber accumulated extensive experience in the Dallas Independent School District from June 2015 to December 2022, holding various positions including Principal, Assistant Principal, ELAR Campus Instructional Coach, and 3rd Grade Reading Teacher. Amber also worked as an Intervention Specialist at Uplift Education and as a Summer Program Intern with Education Pioneers. Further roles include Kindergarten Teacher at Uplift Education and School Operations Manager for Teach For America. Amber's educational background includes a Master of Education in Educational Leadership with Urban School Specialization from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies from The University of Texas at Austin.
