Hsc Sarah Muthiga

Assistant Director, Complaints, Legal Services & Regional Coordination at The Commission on Administrative Justice (Office of the Ombudsman)

Sarah Muthiga's work experience includes serving as Assistant Director, Complaints, Legal Services & Regional Coordination at The Commission on Administrative Justice Office of the Ombudsman, Government of Kenya since 2022. In this role, they manage the staff and functions of the CLS Division and provides legal advice on various aspects of the Commission.

Prior to that, they were Head, Commission Management Support at the National Police Service Commission from an unknown start date to March 2022. Sarah also served as Manager, Legal and Policy Affairs & Management Support Services at the same organization from an unknown start date to March 2022. In these roles, they supported the organization, developed manuals and frameworks, coordinated litigation, and acted as the organization's Corporate Counsel.

Before joining the National Police Service Commission, Sarah worked as a Programme Manager, Human Rights Protection at The Kenyan Section of the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ Kenya) from January 2012 to February 2014.

Furthermore, they had a brief role as a Legal Officer at the Independent Medico-Legal Unit in 2011.

Sarah began their career as a Legal Assistant/Pupil at Muthoga, Gaturu & Company Advocates from July 2010 to December 2010.

Sarah Muthiga, HSC completed their education in the field of law. Sarah first attended The Catholic University of Eastern Africa from 2005 to 2008, earning a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree. In 2009, they enrolled in the Advocates Training Programme at the Kenya School of Law. Later on, from 2011 to 2013, Sarah pursued a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Law and Development at the University of London.
