Teacher & ASB Director at The Classical Academies

Lara DeHaven, M.Ed. has a diverse work experience that spans over a decade. Lara is currently employed at The Classical Academies as a Teacher and ASB Director, a role which they began in August 2022. In addition, they are also working at the University of San Diego: Professional and Continuing Education as a Curriculum Developer and Lecturer, starting in September 2022. Prior to their current positions, Lara served as a CalTPA Assessor at Pearson from February 2023 to July 2023 and as the Summer Leadership Program Coordinator at Army and Navy Academy in June 2022 and July 2022. Lara held multiple roles at Scholarship Prep Public Schools, where they were the Dean of Culture from July 2021 to June 2022 and the Lead Teacher and ELPAC Coordinator from August 2017 to July 2021. Lara also gained experience as a Student Teacher at High Tech Elementary North County from January 2017 to June 2017 and as a Practicum Teacher at Feaster Charter School from July 2016 to December 2016. Lara's teaching journey began with their role as an English Language Teacher at EPIK (English Program in Korea) from September 2010 to August 2015. Lastly, they worked at Blessed Sacrament School as a Pre-Kindergarten Teacher and After School Program Supervisor from August 2008 to June 2010.

Lara DeHaven, M.Ed., completed their Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of San Diego School of Leadership and Education Sciences from 2016 to 2017. Prior to their graduate studies, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics and Psychology from UCLA, where they attended from 2004 to 2008. Lara's education journey began at Torrey Pines High School, where they received their High School Diploma from 2000 to 2004.

In addition to their degrees, Lara holds the CLEAR California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, which they obtained in May 2020 from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Lara has also obtained certification in CPR and First Aid from the American Red Cross, although the specific month and year of achievement are unknown.
