James Moorhead is the Founding Principal of Moorhead Law Group, LLC, since October 2012, and has served as a Commissioner on the Plan Commission and as a Board Member for the Zoning Board of Appeals in The City of Lake Forest since August 2018. Additionally, James was a columnist for Law Bulletin Publishing Company from July 2014 to December 2019, writing the 'Sports, Business, and the Law' column for the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. Prior professional experience includes roles as Partner in Commercial Real Estate at Thompson Coburn LLP from 2005 to 2012, Associate focusing on Commercial Real Estate and Land Use at Freeborn & Peters LLP from 2002 to 2004, and Associate at Lerch, Early & Brewer from 2000 to 2001. James also gained experience as a Law Clerk for the Natural Heritage Institute in 1998 and as Communications Manager for the Motorola Cycling Team from 1994 to 1996. Educational background includes a BA in English and Classics from Georgetown University, a JD from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, and additional studies at The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and Vermont Law and Graduate School.
