Pilar Kelly is currently a Research Intern at the Wilson Center for Science and Justice at Duke Law and an Eads Undergraduate Research Fellow at the Duke University Sanford School of Public Policy, where contributions include evaluating the Shotspotter gun violence initiative in collaboration with Dr. Philip Cook. In addition, Pilar serves as the Opinion Managing Editor and a writer for the Duke Chronicle and has held various roles including Policy Intern at the North Carolina Housing Coalition, where work focused on issues of affordable housing for justice-involved individuals, and Field Organizer for Nida for NC, mobilizing support for a congressional candidate. Previous experience includes advocating for equitable development as an Equitable Development Fellow in Chicago and supporting a congressional campaign through outreach and voter education. Pilar is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy Analysis at Duke University, having graduated from Payton College Preparatory High School in 2020.
