Chris Sweeney is a seasoned medical professional currently serving as Beacon Clinic Physician and Section Chief of Combined Medicine/Pediatrics at Children’s Mercy Kansas City since August 2014. In addition, Chris holds the position of Associate Professor at UMKC starting in September 2014. Prior experience includes roles as Program Director of the Combined Med/Peds Residency at the University of Louisville Physicians from January 2008 to June 2014 and Associate Residency Program Director at Creighton University from August 2005 to January 2008. Earlier in the career, Chris was a Med/Peds Faculty Member at Michigan State University Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies from August 2000 to July 2005. Chris earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine between 1991 and 1995, following a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology from Loyola University Chicago from 1985 to 1989.
