Derrick Battle began their work experience in 2002 as the Department Director of Patient Access at Children's of Alabama. In 2005, they joined Priority Real Estate and Investments as a Realtor. In 2010, Derrick Battle transitioned to Priority Tax Service as a Tax Preparer until 2012.

From 1989 to 1994, Derrick Battle attended Knoxville College where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management.
