Will Aldred is a seasoned professional in research and community building, currently serving as an EA Forum Moderator at The Centre for Effective Altruism and as a Research Analyst focused on AI Forecasting at Metaculus. Previous experience includes conducting independent research on nuclear weapons risk with a grant from the Effective Altruism Long-Term Future Fund and participating in the Cambridge Boston Alignment Initiative’s AI strategy research fellowship. Will has held roles such as Community Builder and Director of Research at Effective Altruism Cambridge, Research Manager and Summer Research Fellow at Stanford Existential Risks Initiative, and has experience in venture capital analysis at Comet Labs. Will holds a double major in Astrophysics and Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, where also competed as an NCAA D-I athlete in men’s golf.
