Kaitlyn Chyau's work experience includes roles as a First Grade Head Teacher and Shared Second Grade Associate Teacher at The Cathedral School of St. John the Divine, with the former role starting in June 2020 and the latter role ending in June 2020. Prior to that, they were a First Grade Associate Teacher at the same school from August 2018 to June 2019. Kaitlyn also worked as a Second Grade Associate Teacher at The Cathedral School of St. John the Divine from August 2017 to June 2018. Before that, they were an After School Teacher at Reading Town from June 2016 to August 2017. Kaitlyn also gained experience as a Kindergarten Student Teacher at Manhattan New School from January 2017 to April 2017, a First Grade Student Teacher at Manhattan Country School from November 2016 to January 2017, and a Pre-K Student Teacher at Bank Street School for Children from September 2016 to November 2016. Additionally, they worked as a Patient Navigator at Apicha Community Health Center from October 2015 to March 2016.

Kaitlyn Chyau has a Master's degree in Early Childhood/Childhood General Education from Bank Street College of Education, which they obtained from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General at Stony Brook University from 2011 to 2015. In high school, they attended the Bronx High School of Science from 2008 to 2011. Additionally, Kaitlyn has obtained several certifications, including NY State Mandated Training in Child Abuse Identification and Reporting, Dignity for All Students Act (DASA), and School Violence Prevention, all of which they obtained from Bank Street College of Education in July 2018.
