Melissa Burgess is an experienced sports journalist and media professional, currently serving as the Owner/Manager of Die By The Blade since October 2017, where significant achievements include overseeing a successful website transition and fundraising campaign. As Managing Editor and Staff Writer for The Buffalo News since March 2022, Melissa covers a variety of high-school sports. Additional roles include contributions to Canisius College Athletics as a Gameday Operations Assistant and On-Air Color Commentator, and covering women's hockey for The Victory Press. With a strong background in social media management for the Buffalo Junior Sabres and previous freelance writing experiences, Melissa has established a significant presence in sports media since earning a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Buffalo State University in 2012.
